Last night, there was a buzz in the air. It felt like we were eagerly awaiting the opportunity to spend corporate time with God. It just felt right. We worshiped, the word was preached, God was honored.
I then had the opportunity to go upstairs and lead our students in worship. I LOVE THOSE TIMES!! I don't know them all quite yet but I want to and will soon. So we led a lot of songs for a long time last night. I love my job!
Next on the schedule is the Convergence Conference. We have several of the countries to communicators and Pastors coming here for 3 days. I can't wait. This will be my first experience with the NC Baptist Convention. Good times ahead. Hope to see you there.

As I was reading this morning, I came across a passage of scripture that hit me kind of funny.
People were brought to Jesus. The whole city was gathered at the door.
I think Andy Stanley said years ago that it is strange that everywhere Jesus went, people wanted to be close to HIm. Now, it seems that people are trying to get far away.
What happened? What caused this turn of events? He can still heal and save, just as He did then.
Man has altered the view of Jesus and Church in our culture, but how can that be restored?
Take this as a simple call to prayer for revival in the hearts of His people and His Church. I don't mean big tents and lots of food. I mean brokenness, passion, compassion for people, preaching and teaching of God's word, love, kindness, and action. Let's pray for the opportunity to have our cities gathered at the doors so people can be saved.

All you iPhone users out there, check out this app. It's called Project 365. This is an app that lets you take a picture and add it to each day. I guess you can snap a shot of something significant from that day. It's free! I have had it for a month and I love it. I have been able to go back and look through some pretty fun photos. Check it out, tell me what you think.

There was a buzz in the air yesterday.
Clint Pressley was here. He is our new co-pastor. Don't get me wrong, Jesus was the focus, but we are excited as a church to have ANOTHER great teaching pastor in our midst. One thing is for sure, if you come to either of our campuses, you WILL hear God's word. No doubt. No fluff. Just truth. I love it.
Jesus never fails. I cannot stress this enough. HE never fails. He was here to minister to His people yesterday. What more can one ask for, God's truth taught, and His people worshiped?
Here are a couple of the songs we sang yesterday:
You alone can rescue-Redman
Your love never fails-Jesus Culture
God of this City-Tomlin

Finally back home. I think the group that I was with is still traveling. They had a few get sick so they took some extra time to get back.
We had a great time!
Personally, Miles had so much fun in ski-wee school. I got to watch him ski a little bit. He was getting the hang of it. Tammy and Gavin did not get to do too much because Gav was too short for tubing and too young for ski-wee school. So they hung back at the hotel and bowled.
Ministry related, I love those students at Pray's Mill Baptist Church. I have been leading worship for them at their summer camp and other various events now for about 8 years. I have seen these students grow, and now I get to see their siblings come through. I have seen many come to know the Lord. I have seen several respond to the call for ministry. I have seen these kids make life changing decisions, all the praise to Jesus! He has allowed me to share in that joy.
Ric, their student pastor, and I grew up in the same town. I am still amazed that we are doing ministry together. God has brought him a long way and he is making a HUGE difference in his community for Christ. He was not quite the church goer as he is today, but the Lord has brought him out of the darkness and into the light!
So now I'm back and ready to spend time with my church family here at Hickory Grove North!
